Located in the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina in historic Boone, Appalachian Music Shoppe is a unique kind of musical instrument shoppe. In these days of large corporate chain and internet stores, Appalachian Music Shoppe is proud to offer a hands-on relaxed, helpful atmosphere. We feature over 200 guitars, mandolins, banjos, violins/fiddles, dulcimers, basses, dobros, and other instruments. Some of our instruments are handmade by the owner, Bobby Norris, and our in-house luthier, Dick Wilson. We specialize in bluegrass and other folk music styles but we cater to musicians of all types. We do all types of instrument repair and offer in-store-financing. We are located on the Highway 105 Extension in the Carriage Square Complex, across from Southern States Subaru. Our hours are Monday thru Friday, 9:30 to 5:30 and Saturday, 10:00 to 2:00.
This website is your opportunity to get to know us and the shoppe, and learn a bit about what we do and what we offer. We strongly believe that each instrument is unique, and we encourage our customers to come visit us and experience instruments first-hand. Our motto is "Play It Before You Buy It".
